CMS Layout and Content Designer

Full Job Description

The Overfuel onboarding team is seeking a layout designer and content creator to assist with the creation of websites on the Overfuel platform. We have a proprietary content management system similar to Webflow and WordPress, but with a drag-and-drop editor and a robust template library that we’ve built over time. The ideal candidate will have a strong visual eye, be detail-oriented, and be comfortable juggling multiple priorities. Collaborating with the onboarding team is critical for taking projects from a scope of work to a well-designed, organized website that’s ready for production.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high attention to detail by producing accurate, polished website content
• Create and modify CMS page templates using primarily the drag-and-drop editor with occasional custom HTML or CSS, ensuring consistency in style, performance, and usability across all devices
• Customize CMS themes and templates to align with branding, adjusting styles, fonts, colors, and layouts
• Apply SEO best practices for on-page optimization
• Check websites for broken links, loading issues, or conflicts and correct the issues
• Handle content updates, structural changes, and new page builds
• Collect, organize, and edit stock images and graphics for websites, landing pages, and other marketing assets, adhering to brand guidelines
• Collaborate with the onboarding team to triage issues that are either blocking progress or can potentially cause delays
• Assist in conducting audits of existing customer websites, content, sitemaps, and third-party tools to define a scope of work for their new website on Overfuel

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in design or digital content creation
• Basic understanding of on-page and local SEO principles
• Ideally experienced in WordPress, Webflow, or a similar CMS
• Ideally experienced in MailChimp, HubSpot, or a similar visual content editor
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and or JavaScript, with knowledge of responsive design principles for usability across devices
• Strong visual design skills with an eye for detail and branding
• Ability to write and edit content, balancing client nuances and project requirements
• Experience in sourcing and editing images and graphics for web use
• Ability to optimize site speed and performance through media and image compression
• Expertise in Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets) and familiarity with Gmail, file management tools like Google Drive, and task management tools such as Asana or Notion
