Finance Lead (Remote, LATAM)

Role Summary

You’ll be the primary, hands-on owner of our day-to-day finances. That means posting and reconciling transactions, invoicing and collections, and keeping reports accurate and timely in Odoo (our ERP/accounting system). You’ll work closely with leadership, receive training and simple SOPs, and have clear goals. We keep process docs lightweight and practical—the vital 20% that everyone follows.


Job Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Post, reconcile, and review transactions; keep monthly balance sheet and P&L accurate.
  • Track failed payments and coordinate client collections with the team.
  • Handle IOLTA (legal trust account) transfers per firm standards.
  • Partner with operations and client service on finance questions.
  • Improve and document simple, high-level checklists/SOPs so work is “followed by all.”

What Success Looks Like (first 90 days)

  • Predictable monthly close cadence with a short written summary.
  • A small, weekly finance snapshot (cash on hand, AR aging, failed-payment queue).
  • Clean AR/AP with an initial plan to reduce >60-day AR.
  • A rolling 12-month budget/forecast with simple variance notes.
  • 1–2 key workflows captured as clear checklists (vital 20%). 


Job Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Fluent English & Spanish; based in Latin America with reliable internet.
  • 2+ years in accounting/finance coordination or similar.
  • Comfortable with Odoo, QuickBooks, or Xero.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, proactive; confident owning full-cycle bookkeeping and a monthly close.
  • Strong communicator/collaborator in a remote team.

Bonus Points

  • IOLTA / legal trust accounting; collections/failed-payment experience; law-firm or subscription model experience.

How We Work (remote norms)

  • Cameras ON for key meetings; professional setup. Track time in Hubstaff; use Odoo for requests/PTO; Google Drive is the system of record. Compensation & Perks
  • $1,500/month USD; training & SOPs provided; wellness stipend after month 3 (contractors).

Classification

This is a remote contractor role under our current policy for remote workers.
