Full Job Description

This is a 100% remote role as an independent contractor (freelance) and is only open to candidates based in Latin America.

We are a fast-growing, US-based company with an international team that is seeking an experienced English-speaking accounting & bookkeeping professional to join our REMOTE team and provide: bookkeeping, periodic reporting, and payroll processing services primarily to our flagship company Botero Holdings.

We are looking for one detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team (Working hours vary between 8 am EST to 1 pm EST). The ideal candidate should be proficient in QuickBooks Online, Excel or Google Sheets, demonstrate initiative, prioritize effectively, and consistently meet deadlines. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial data, ensuring accuracy in our payable and receivables, and payroll. This is a key role within our organization, as accurate financial data is crucial for making informed business decisions.

This is an independent contractor role that will start as Part-time and then will shift to full-time (after 90 days)


Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, rentals, and property management activities.
  2. Record and categorize financial transactions in appropriate ledgers, journals, and accounting software (QuickBooks Online).
  3. Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  4. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  5. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including issuing invoices, processing payments, and following up on overdue payments.
  6. Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and deadlines.
  7. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making processes.
  8. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to gather financial information and provide support as needed.
  9. Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to real estate bookkeeping.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information at all times.


Job Requirements

  1. Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the real estate industry.
  2. Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices, including double-entry accounting.
  3. Proficiency in using accounting software and tools, such as QuickBooks, Excel, or similar applications.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  8. Familiarity with real estate terminology and processes is a plus.
  9. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
