Full Job Description

We are a fast-paced and growing real estate investment and sales business seeking a detail-obsessed Bookkeeper & Tax Strategy Specialist to join our team. If QuickBooks is your second language and you treat every transaction like it’s a golden breadcrumb in a financial trail we want to talk.

You’ll play a critical role in keeping our financial engine running smoothly, with daily oversight of income, expenses, commissions, and investment transactions. We’re not just looking for data entry we need someone who owns the numbers, asks the right questions, and brings proactive insights that help us grow and save.


Job Responsibilities

* *Daily Transaction Management:*

 * Record, reconcile, and categorize all financial transactions (sales commissions, rental income, renovation expenses, vendor payments, etc.) in *QuickBooks Online*.

 * Ensure 100% accuracy and daily follow-up on missing or unclear items.

* *Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation:*

 * Perform weekly reconciliations of all financial accounts.

 * Immediately flag discrepancies or potential fraud.

* *Tax Strategy & Preparation:*

 * Maintain clean books for quarterly tax estimates and year-end filing.

 * Work alongside our CPA to develop and implement *real estate-specific tax strategies* (cost segregation, 1031 exchanges, depreciation tracking, etc.).

* *Cash Flow & Budget Monitoring:*

 * Help monitor project budgets, property ROI, and cash reserves.

 * Provide reports that support strategic investment decisions.

* *Vendor & Contractor Oversight:*

 * Track payments to contractors, vendors, and service providers.

 * Ensure W-9s and 1099s are properly collected and filed.

* *Financial Reporting & Communication:*

 * Deliver weekly reports on financial performance, cash flow, and red flags.

 * Collaborate closely with the investor/agent to answer questions and strategize.


Job Requirements

* *5+ years experience* in bookkeeping, preferably in real estate, property management, or construction.

* Proficiency in *QuickBooks Online* (QBO Certified a huge plus).

* Solid understanding of *real estate tax laws and deductions*.

* Highly organized, self-motivated, and assertive in follow-ups.

* Strong communication skills — both written and verbal.

* Ability to work independently, ask smart questions, and take initiative.

* A little bit of humor helps — we move fast and work hard, but we like to laugh along the way.
