Job Responsibilities

The Video Editor will be responsible for the following tasks:

• VERY IMPORTANT: Adjusting color grading and correcting video footage for optimal visual appeal, particularly for brown and dark skin individuals. DO NOT APPLY if you don’t know how to do this and/or cannot learn how to do it quickly. You will be tested on it.
• VERY IMPORTANT: Conducting quality checks on completed videos to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand standards.
• VERY IMPORTANT: Enhancing audio clarity and volume levels to improve overall sound quality.
• Performing general video editing for various platforms, including social media, website, and other promotional channels.
• Assisting in the selection of appropriate stock footage, images, and audio clips for video production.
• Trimming and arranging video clips to create engaging and cohesive content.
• Adding and editing transitions, visual effects, and animations to enhance video quality.
• Bleeping out curse words or inappropriate content as required by brand guidelines or content policies.
• Incorporating and synchronizing background music, sound effects, and voiceovers for a seamless audio-visual experience.
• Removing background noise and other unwanted audio elements to ensure clean and high-quality sound.
• Adding and formatting subtitles or captions to videos to make content more accessible and user-friendly.
• Creating and designing custom video thumbnails for social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube to attract viewers.
• Working closely with content creators and marketing teams to align video editing with brand guidelines and marketing strategies.
• Implementing branding elements, such as logos and watermarks, into videos for brand recognition.
• Maintaining an organized file structure and adhering to version control practices for efficient project management.
• Compressing and optimizing video files for different platforms and devices to achieve optimal loading times and performance.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest video editing trends, software, and techniques to continuously improve editing skills.
• Collaborating with other team members, such as graphic designers and content creators, to develop integrated multimedia campaigns.
• Participating in creative brainstorming sessions to contribute video editing ideas and concepts.
• Staying on schedule and meeting project deadlines to ensure timely delivery of video content.
• Safeguarding the confidentiality of sensitive material and adhering to non-disclosure agreements when handling proprietary content.
• Adapting editing styles and techniques to cater to different target audiences and content genres.
• Troubleshooting technical issues related to video editing software and equipment.
• Providing constructive feedback and suggestions to content creators for continuous improvement.
• Assisting in video pre-production tasks, such as script editing and storyboarding, if required.
• Maintaining open communication with team members to ensure smooth collaboration and workflow efficiency.
• Addressing client feedback and making necessary revisions to video content.
• Assisting with video post-production tasks, such as exporting, rendering, and uploading final videos to designated platforms.
