About the job Commerce Social is a dual-badged official TikTok agency. We're a technology-driven social commerce partner for growth-minded consumer brands, combining senior human expertise with an agentic commerce stack that connects creators, brands, and platforms in one unified layer. Our team has generated $80 Million in GMV through creator partnerships, helping 8-10 figure e-commerce brands scale through social commerce strategies. We orchestrate the full journey from discovery to checkout, transforming social from a brand channel into a primary revenue storefront. The role You are the person who gets our money in. You own every dollar that should come into Commerce Social and every dollar that goes out, and you build the systems that make that run without a founder in the loop. We're looking for a shark. Someone who treats an overdue invoice as a personal problem and doesn't wait to be asked to chase it. Polite, professional, and completely relentless. Clients like you and still pay you on time. Internally, you hold account managers and sales reps to deadlines the same way, in writing, and you escalate when someone is late twice. You're also a builder. When you leave a company, the billing function runs without you. What you'll do Collections, the most important part of this job. Review AR aging every morning. Anything past due gets an email that day and a phone call by day three. Build a contact card for every client's AP team, and if we don't have a direct phone number, you get one. Run the full escalation ladder yourself. Founders get involved only on disputes or accounts more than 30 days past due, and you bring the full history when you escalate. Invoicing. Send every client invoice on its billing date: retainers, revenue share on trailing GMV, ad spend fees, creator and content packages, and one-off rounds. Pull the performance and spend numbers yourself rather than waiting on the account manager. Every line item shows the service month, every invoice carries its number and contract reference, and there are zero resends. Cross-team submissions. Own the monthly deadline. By the 25th, every account manager has confirmed scope changes, every closer has logged new contracts and payment terms, and every referral is recorded. Chase anyone who hasn't submitted, Slack first and then a call. Catch revenue leakage before anyone else, like a client whose volume jumped without a matching fee invoice, or an expired contract still being billed. Payables, payroll, and commissions. Run contractor and payroll payouts on schedule and in the right currency, with no missed pay dates. Calculate commissions monthly off paid invoices only, against the signed comp plan, with founder sign-off. Keep a live commission ledger every rep can see. Pay referral fees and approved vendor invoices. Sales support. Handle deal admin from signature to first invoice, and be the sales team's answer on terms, collections, and what a client owes. Systems and reporting. Build the billing, payout, and commission calendars in one place. Write SOPs a new hire could follow. Automate recurring invoices, reminders, payouts, and past-due alerts. Keep QuickBooks clean so the CPA's monthly close is a review, not a rebuild. Send a daily one-line report to the founders on cash collected, cash out, and what's overdue. What we're looking for 3+ years in AR and collections at an agency, professional services firm, or another business billing retainer plus variable fees. You've chased corporate AP departments and know every excuse. Comfortable on the phone. Email is the first touch, the call is the second, and you don't need permission to make it. Hands-on with QuickBooks and at least one modern invoicing and payments platform, and able to learn a new one in a week. Can read a contract or SOW and turn it into a billing schedule without help. Understands revenue share, ad spend percentage, Net terms, and financed contracts. Has run commissions or payroll and understands why "paid invoices only" matters. Has built or rebuilt a billing process, with the process docs to show. Comfortable with a work tracker, Slack workflows, and light automation. Doesn't need a developer to connect two tools. Organized to the point of annoying. Nice to have: financed or factored receivables, prepping books for an outside CPA close, and an agency or e-commerce background. This is not the role for you if: you wait to be told an invoice is late, you find follow-up uncomfortable or think a second reminder is rude, or you'd rather work a queue than fix the process that created it. Why Commerce Social Competitive base pay, plus commission tied to company performance Work with brands like Stanley 1913, Hyland's, Bodybuilding.com, and Vegamour Hypergrowth: around 500 inbound leads a month and new enterprise clients every week Build the function rather than inherit someone else's, with a flat structure and minimal red tape How to apply Send a resume plus two short answers: the largest overdue balance you personally collected and how you did it, and one billing process you built from scratch and what it replaced.
