Controller / Head of Accounting

Location: Latin America (Remote or Regional Office-Based)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller / Head of Accounting to lead our finance and accounting operations across Latin America. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a hands-on approach to financial management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred)

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles

• Strong knowledge of Latin American accounting regulations and tax frameworks

• Experience working in multi-entity or multinational environments

• Proven leadership and team management skills

• Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and ERP platforms

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Fluency in Spanish required; English proficiency strongly preferred (Portuguese a plus)

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting

Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP as applicable)

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures

Manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions

Provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making

Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing accounting team

Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
