We are seeking a highly educated, self-directed Grant Writer & Funding Strategy Lead to independently manage the full grant-seeking process for an education-focused nonprofit.This role is responsible for researching funding opportunities, writing and submitting grant applications, managing deadlines, and tracking outcomes. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and be trusted to own the grant pipeline from start to finish.The ideal candidate is an excellent English writer with strong research skills, experience working independently, and familiarity with nonprofit or educational funding systems. This role is well-suited for candidates with academic, education, public policy, social science, or humanities backgrounds who are comfortable managing complex written work without close supervision.Key
Responsibilities
Research and identify relevant grant opportunities aligned with our mission
Independently write, revise, and submit grant applications
Manage grant calendars, deadlines, and submission requirements
Maintain clear records of submitted, awarded, and pending grants
Communicate funding opportunities, timelines, and outcomes clearly to leadership
Required Qualifications
Advanced writing proficiency (academic or professional level)- can be in Spanish, we can translate
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage long-term projects
Strong research and synthesis skills
Experience with grant writing, academic writing, or professional proposal writing

Experience with grant writing or closely related work such as academic research, policy analysis, legal/paralegal writing, or professional proposal writing
Ability to manage deadlines, documentation, and multiple funding opportunities simultaneously
