Full Job Description

The Lead Accounting Technician is responsible for supporting the financial operations of multiple growing businesses led by entrepreneur CEO. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing billing and collections, processing expenses, and supporting payroll preparation.

The Lead Accounting Technician will oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, expense tracking, and financial reporting for several service-based companies. The role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage financial information across multiple entities.

This position works closely with leadership to ensure financial systems remain organized, accurate, and up to date while supporting the continued growth of the businesses.

The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, highly organized, and comfortable working with financial systems and accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero. This role requires someone who can manage financial data responsibly, communicate clearly, and maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information.

The Lead Accounting Technician contributes to the success of the companies by helping ensure that financial processes run smoothly, invoices are processed accurately, expenses are tracked properly, and leadership has access to reliable financial reporting for decision-making.


Job Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Management

  • Prepare and send invoices to clients across all companies
  • Track outstanding invoices and follow up on collections
  • Reconcile incoming payments and deposits
  • Maintain accurate customer billing records

Accounts Payable Management

  • Review and process vendor invoices and bills
  • Schedule and track payments to vendors and contractors
  • Maintain organized financial documentation for all transactions
  • Reconcile vendor statements and accounts

Payroll Preparation

  • Prepare payroll reports and supporting documentation
  • Track employee and contractor hours and payments
  • Coordinate payroll data for processing and compliance
  • Maintain payroll records and payment history

Expense Management

  • Track and categorize company expenses
  • Reconcile bank accounts and company credit cards
  • Maintain accurate financial records and receipts
  • Monitor spending and assist with budget tracking

Billing and Financial Operations

  • Support billing systems and invoicing processes across companies
  • Monitor revenue tracking and payment records
  • Assist with improving financial systems and reporting processes

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and summaries
  • Track revenue, expenses, and profitability across multiple companies
  • Assist leadership with financial insights and reporting
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities

Financial Record Organization

  • Maintain organized digital financial records and documentation
  • Ensure financial data is accurate and up to date
  • Maintain confidentiality with financial information


Job Requirements

Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles

Experience managing accounts receivable and accounts payable

Experience with payroll preparation and expense tracking

Proficiency with QuickBooks and Xero accounting software

Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports and financial data

Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial information

Excellent organization and time management skills

Ability to manage financial operations for multiple companies simultaneously

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Comfortable working in a remote environment with digital accounting systems

Reliable high-speed internet connection and secure workspace

Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial data

Ability to work during U.S. Central Time business hours
