We are looking for a remote SharePoint Site Developer based in Central America to design, build, and maintain our SharePoint Online environment for multiple businesses in the automotive aftermarket and real estate sectors. This role will translate business requirements into a practical, easy-to-use SharePoint site structure, automations, and governance that support day-to-day operations and reporting.
Work with leadership and managers to gather requirements and design the overall SharePoint site architecture (site collections, hubs, subsites, libraries, lists, content types, permissions, and navigation).
Configure and customize SharePoint Online sites, lists, libraries, views, and pages to support departments such as operations, HR, accounting, inventory, and property management.
Build workflows and automations using Power Automate and related tools for document approvals, onboarding, task routing, notifications, and recurring processes.
Create templates (sites, libraries, lists, and pages) and standardize file structures and metadata to enforce consistent information architecture and governance.
Implement and manage security (permissions, groups, sharing policies) in line with company policies and least-privilege access principles.
Integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 apps (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Power BI) and, where appropriate, with line-of-business systems (CRM, ERP, POS, or scheduling platforms).
Migrate existing content from file shares, Google Drive, local servers, and ad‑hoc storage locations into SharePoint, including cleanup, restructuring, and metadata tagging.
Provide basic training, documentation, and short how‑to videos or guides so staff can use the new SharePoint environment effectively.
Monitor site performance, storage, and usage; troubleshoot issues and implement improvements based on user feedback.
Follow and refine governance standards (naming conventions, retention, versioning, external sharing, and lifecycle policies) to keep the environment organized and secure.
3+ years of hands-on experience building and configuring SharePoint Online sites for small or mid‑sized businesses.
Strong skills in SharePoint Online configuration: sites, libraries, lists, permissions, views, modern pages, and web parts.
Experience with Power Automate (flows) and basic Power Apps for forms or simple apps tied to SharePoint lists.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration concepts (Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD groups/permissions) as they relate to SharePoint.
Ability to design practical information architecture: taxonomies, metadata, content types, and templates that match real business processes
Strong communication skills in English written and spoken.
Proven success working fully remote, including managing tasks, deadlines, and regular status updates across time zones.
Basic front-end skills (JSON formatting, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript) for customizing SharePoint pages and views.
Experience integrating SharePoint with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI.
Familiarity with documenting SOPs and building simple user guides or Loom-style walkthroughs.
