Senior Financial Analyst

Full Job Description

The ideal candidate for the Senior Financial Analyst role is a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional who supports the Chief Financial Officer and accounting team. This offshore contract role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, audit support, and operational analysis. The position will also work closely with the accounting team to help ensure the accurate recording and reconciliation of case settlements and other complex financial transactions.The ideal candidate is proactive, technically strong in Excel and financial analysis, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while supporting U.S.-based leadership and operations remotely.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and executive reporting for firm leadership
• Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
• Analyze financial performance, profitability, cash flow, and operational metrics
• Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process and financial improvement
• Assist in developing KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting tools

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process
• Maintain rolling forecasts and scenario analyses
• Build and update financial models to support strategic and operational decision-making
• Perform budget-to-actual variance analysis and provide actionable insights

Financial Modeling

• Create and maintain advanced Excel-based financial models
• Support forecasting related to settlements, revenue, staffing, and firm operations
• Assist leadership with profitability analysis and strategic planning initiatives

Accounting & Settlement Support

• Partner with the accounting team to help ensure accurate recording of case settlements and related transactions
• Review settlement-related reconciliations and supporting schedules for accuracy
• Assist with financial controls, reconciliations, and accounting process improvements
• Support month-end and year-end close activities as needed

Audit & Compliance Support

• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Assist with external audits and financial reviews
• Support compliance with internal financial procedures and reporting requirements

Process Improvement & Systems

• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting efficiency and automation
• Assist with reporting tools, dashboards, and financial system enhancements
• Help standardize financial reporting and analytical processes

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting support roles
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial systems/software
• Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting
• Experience supporting audits and working with accounting teams
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities remotely
• CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent certification
• Experience supporting U.S.-based companies or professional services firms
• Experience with legal, settlement, or trust accounting is a plus
• Familiarity with BI and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
