Short-Form Social Video Editor (Viral Hooks Expert)

Full Job Description

ETERNA is a premium hair extension brand focused on driving customer growth through high-impact social content.We are looking for a social-first video editor who can take raw footage and turn it into scroll-stopping, viral short-form content. This role is not for traditional long-form editors - we need someone who understands hooks, pacing, retention, and platform-native storytelling at an expert level.You will work closely with our internal creative team to edit content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Shorts with the goal of driving engagement, reach, and new customer acquisition.

Job Responsibilities

Edit raw footage into high-performing short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Shorts

Create strong, attention-grabbing hooks within the first 1–3 seconds

Apply fast pacing, clean cuts, captions, and on-screen text optimized for retention

Actively research social trends, editing styles, and viral formats to propose new creative ideas

Contribute creative input on hooks, angles, and structure to improve performance

Follow creative direction while adding your own editorial instincts for virality

Optimize edits based on platform trends and performance insights

Deliver consistent, high-quality edits on deadline

Collaborate closely with the creative team to test, iterate, and improve content results

Job Requirements

3+ years of experience editing short-form social video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or Shorts

Proven ability to create strong hooks in the first 1–3 seconds that drive retention

Deep understanding of social-first pacing, storytelling, and viral formats

Experience turning raw footage into high-performing short-form content

Actively follows social trends and understands what performs now, not last year

Strong editorial instincts and confidence proposing creative ideas and angles

Fluent written English required — all content is created in English, including hooks, captions, and on-screen text

Ability to confidently write, refine, and time English copy without translation tools

Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro (CapCut Pro acceptable if highly skilled)

Comfortable using captions, on-screen text, sound effects, and music strategically

Able to work independently, take feedback well, and iterate quickly

Portfolio or examples showing short-form content designed to perform on social

Nice to Have (Not Required):

Motion graphics or light animation skills

Experience editing for DTC or performance-driven brands
