REMOTE* Dental Billing Specialist for Growing Dental Practice
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Dental Billing Specialist to join our fast-growing dental practice based in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. The Dental Billing Specialist serves as a key financial liaison between our practice and health insurance providers, ensuring accurate and timely claim submission and payment processing.
This is a fully remote position. You will be responsible for managing the full billing cycle - from preparing and submitting insurance claims to resolving denials and posting payments - while maintaining strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Work Hours: Monday-Thursday 7a-4p (CST) and Fridays 7a-12p (CST)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Five or more years prior experience as a medical/dental biller, preferably in a dental practice
• Familiarity with CDT and ICD codes will be highly advantageous
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Top-notch interpersonal skills with commitment to excellent customer service
• Capacity to work with sensitive patient information while maintaining confidentiality
• Computer and technology savvy; experience with dental practice management software required
• Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a computer capable of accessing Practice Management Software remotely
• Excellent attendance, reliability and dependability a MUST
• Must provide two work references with current contact information at time of interview

Prepare and submit accurate dental insurance claims using CDT and ICD codes
Post and reconcile insurance payments to patient accounts
Manage dental insurance accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims
Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility with health insurance providers
Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims by implementing corrective measures
Update and maintain accurate patient personal and insurance information in practice management software
Ensure strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations at all times
Liaise with health insurance providers to ascertain patient benefits and coverage details
Enter and maintain accurate billing data in practice management software
Communicate professionally with patients and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Five or more years of prior experience as a medical/dental biller, preferably in a dental practice
